HOW I SPEND MY LEISURE HOURS..

"Leisure" means free time. As a university student, I try to spend our leisure hours in a useful manner. It takes about 6 hours to complete university lectures and academic work. I felt thatI should spend at least an hour in my garden..
Gardening๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿƒ is my hobby. It delights me to see my plants florish and bear fruits.
I spend some of my leisure hours in reading too.๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“š

At night watch the T.V. I don't spend much time for it I watch the news programmes mostly. The television makes us directly see and hear what is happening around the world๐ŸŒŽ...

On holidays I help my father in his cultivation work it gives me much pleasure...

I think I spend my leisure hours in a useful and fruitful manner..๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

An Interesting Book I have Read... ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“š

I was only 11 years old when I read Martin Wickremasinghe's Madoldoowa for the first time. It is a very interesting children's adventure story. This book is so popular that it has been translated into several foreign languages too..

"Madoldoowa" has become the most popular novel among the school children.

The main characters of this story are Upali and Jinna. We meet Upali for the first time as a motherless child of seven years. Upali doesn't get the parentel love and affection. He feels himself as an outsider.

Jinna is Upali's best friend. We can't find more details about him.It is said that Jinna is a distant relative of Upali's family..

Both Upali and Jinna led a number with escapades with the assistance  of the other boys like Siripala and Dangadasa. Robbers, Veddah game and cadju raid are some of them..

At last Upali and Jinna become successful farmers..

"Madoldoowa" is a didactic story..❤❤❤

 A GREAT SOCIAL SERVICE ...

Our youth club did a great service by helping the flood victims in the Kegalle district..

We saw their pathetic situation through the newspapers. Also we came to know through the electronic media about the great damages caused to their lives and properties.

At the monthly meeting of our youth club, it was unanimously decided to draw up a programme to help the flood victims. We went from house to house collecting the donation. We gave a wide publicity for this purpose.

We collected dry rations, clothes, medicine and money. Almost all the residents in our area contributed generously in cash or kind.

We hired a lorry and transported the goods to Kegalle. When we visited the flood affected area, we were able to see the actual destruction coused by the floods.

We distributed the parcels among the flood victims. They shed tears while accepting our donation.

They appreciated our generosity very much.

 First trip from university

Then we were first year student. It had been about  three months since we entered the university..๐Ÿ˜

One day we heared that a lecturer at the university had died suddenly.๐Ÿ˜ฅ  We didn't even know him. But the senior students informed that all the first year students should attend the funeral.

The funeral was held at Katuwana, Walasmulla. I remember 2 or 3 busses leaving for this trip. We left the hostel in the morning ๐ŸŒ„... Many senior students also joined this trip.

We were very happy from the begging of the trip. We had a lot of fun. Sometimes some students became talented  comedians๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ and talented singers.. some people become cunning traders who try to trade their business strategically.. ๐Ÿ˜ Some even had to count buddhist temples from the bbeginning to the end of the journey..๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“ But the trip was a lot of fun..

Although we attended a funeral that day, It was the first trip we took to university.

A sad day at school.........

I have had plenty of happy days in my 13 years of school. But not without many sad days. The day I am talking about is 9th of March 2014..

It is a day when a teacher who has been teaching for 13 of 13 years is retiring.. She is 'Somalatha Wedage'.. She was the first dancing teacher in my life❤.. She is a 53 years old teacher.. Loved by school children, parents, teachers as well as..

That's why I couldn't bear her retirement. I loved and❤❤ respected her so much. I have been studying dance under her since 2001. It was pity that the teacher retired before the end of my school life๐Ÿ˜ญ..

We organized a party for her.๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ A special appropriation was given by the school and education sector.. We all reluctantly had to say goodbye✋✋✋to the teacher..

It was one of the saddest days of school then.
